This week’s top 10 on the Billboard 100 features Usher, Mariah Carey, Lil Wayne, Danity Kane, Rihanna, Jordin Sparks, and Madonna among others. How unpredictable is it that music devotees would find this collection of artists on the same billboard when a fair number of them faded out of the music scene for so long? Fans seem very accepting of Indie artists, and this may be part of defining a decade of fans who want to hear their own new music culture.

It seems like individuals are searching for voices bold enough for other gare groups to recognize talents that were not a product of the 90s. The perseverance of artists like Mariah Carey, Beyonce Knowles, Bon Jovi, Justin Timberlake, add to the exciting suspense of popular music just as much as artists with infrequent, butt immediately well-received artists like Mary J. Blige, Korn, and Linkin Park.

It seems like out of nowhere, country music is seeping its way into the hearts of fans as well. Keith urban, Kenny Chesney, Rascal Flatts, and Martina McBride are converting countless people into being country fans. They are not finished either.

One concept is clear: music fans are looking for music that won’t fade, and will be here in the future. American Idol caters to this idea to a large extent, and succeeds with only a few dips in producing artists with recognizable talent.
